NEW UPMARKET RETIREMENT LIVING
Bayside Bulletin Tuesday December 4 2007
Arriving at Rosevale Court you could be forgiven for believing that you have just entered the grounds of an upmarket hotel. The architecturally interesting buildings surrounded by manicured lawns dotted with palm trees and bordered by tropical landscaping are more reminiscent of an upmarket resort.

But this facility has been expressly designed and built as a high and low care aged facility.

Rosevale Court opened back in December 2000 with 120 residents, many of whom had transferred from Autumn Lodge in Greenslopes.

In 2000 the state of the art facilities included four residential wings named Gardenia, Wisteria, Jacaranda and Magnolia that catered for varying levels of patient care and the main building that housed the reception, visiting doctor’s consulting rooms, a hair dressing salon, a large staff training room, the dining room and frail patient care on the top level.

Now nearing completion is another $3 million wing Banksia with 28 rooms that will be ready to occupy in around a months time.

Each room has been designed with wider doors and wider access to beds for patient lifts and ensuite bathrooms for added personal privacy.

Flat floors with no steps and lifts are essential not just for the less mobile of the residents but also for staff and movement of patients.

Rosevale Court currently looks after 107 residents using 140 staff members including 90 nursing staff.

The centre is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with at least seven staff on the premises overnight, every night.

Residents have access to nurses who are always on call to assist with their needs.

For families contemplating a care facility for a relative, this is one that should definitely be on their shortlist.

Close to shops, cinemas, clubs, hospitals and transport, with a moderate mico climate and close to the bay for the summer breezes, the location is unbeatable.

And now with the new Banksia wing about to open, accessibility has never been better.

RELAXED SOCIAL ATMOSPHERE...
Bayside Bulletin Tuesday December 4 2007
It’s a relief to family member to know they can, and are encouraged to visit their relatives at Rosevale Court at any time.

The more active and able residents go shopping or out for a coffee or meal locally with their family members, but with the average age at Rosevale Court around 80, many families prefer to spend their social time together on the premises, making use of the comfortable facilities and lovely gardens for a stroll.

And those facilities are about to receive a huge boost with a new multi-purpose building currently under construction.

Conveniently located between the main building and the new wing, the atrium room will be used for many of the events that are scheduled daily, as well as general social meeting place.

The building of the new multi-functional space, will provide more flexibility for events and special interest groups, without being disturbed by the necessity to set up for meals.

For some of the residents who move into Rosevale Court it takes a little time to get adjusted, after many years of physical and mental isolation.

However, once familiar with the surroundings they are free to participate in as many of the activities as they are able, while still being able to maintain their privacy when they desire.

When completed the new atrium room will provide ideal surroundings for families, friends and residents to enjoy a more relaxed social atmosphere.

Senior Lifestyle April / May 2008
Faith Lutheran College students worked together to bring a little sweetness to the kids at the Mater Children’s hospital, as part of their Student Service program.

All students get involved in performing different acts of community service around the College and the greater community.

This group of Year 6 students initiated and coordinated an Easter Egg collection for the Mater Children’s hospital, collected over 500 Easter Eggs within a week. With great pleasure the students delivered the eggs to each of the sick children.

While the Junior School students where visiting children in their age group, the Middle School students where visiting our senior citizens.  The residents of Rosevale Court on Cleveland – Redland Bay Road at Victoria Point were delighted to receive this special delivery form Faith’s Student Representative Committee.

After a wonderful afternoon at Rosevale Court the students continued to spread the Easter gifts at Finlandia Village.
